CHRISTCHURCH, last night. Tne New Zealand Master Bakers

Conference, which sat here all week, closed on Friday, lb was resolved that any Unions paying £3 3s annually have two votes ; other Unions - , one. The question of a standard weight for bread was remitted to next Conference. Mr W. A. Keelow and Mr 13. If. McCarthy were re-elected President and Secretary. It was resolved to hold the next Conference at Auckland. In the evening, the delenates were entertained by the Canterbury Master Bakers’ Association, when representatives of the Millers' Association were present. The general tone of the speeches was to the effect that the establishment of the] Millers" Union was a good thing for the baking trade, and that a combination between miller and baker would tend to put both trades on a, better

doling, and would not be detrimental b the interest of the public. Suririse was expressed at the deplorable

state of the baking trade in Canterbury, and hopes were expressed thatthe result of the Conference would be .to put it ca a better footing
