With ttgaid to tin- plautmg of Disr-li street, some question was raised as i wliat had been said at the Borough Coro
oil as to tho trees being planted on tin middle of the footpath. It was explained that the trees spoken of were fully eleven feet from the fence. With regard to tho well complained of, the deepening of the drain had drawn away some of the surface water that usually ran into tho well, but did not otherwise effect it. Donations were acknowledged from Mrs W\ L. Rees, of £5, towards beautifying Ballanco end ; also the sum of -C2-1 Us from Mr E. G. Matthews, secretary of the Ping-Pong Committee. Tho latter sum was earmarked for the purpose of buying iron seats for the Recreation Ground.
Some members thought that, whilst appreciating tho gift, that tile money “houid not have been earmarked.
It was decided to procure the scats at an early date. Donations of Indian seeds wore acknowledged from Mr J. W. Witty, bulbs from Mrs Murphy, and Native trees from Messrs Breumcr and 11. Kenway.
