Herd Laddie gained first as champion at Nathaiia in 1890, lirst and champion and the Doherty Challenge Cup at the same show in 1891, and lirst and champion prizej at Tatura the same year. Herd Laddie was imported Irom Scotland by Mr lj. Ray, and was afterwards sold to Mr D. Archibald lor 750 guineas.
