PRELIMINARY STEPS,
By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, last night. A conference of delegates from local bodies win held to-night, to rcccivo tho Actuary's report on tho comparative statements regarding tho finances of tho City and three adjoining boroughs intorostod in a Greater Christchurch. Tho report went exhaustively into tho details, and, after a short discussion, tho Conference resolved to ask the City Council to formulate a detailed scheme on tho basis of tho figures supplied for submission to tho suburban boroughs. It was suggested that the assets and incomes should bo “ pooled,” and tho district abattoirs and destructor bo taken over by Groator Christchurch, but that tho loaus should remain as at present.
