Tho Operative Bakers’ Union has filed a dispute for reference to the Conciliation Board. Tho chief points of the claim are 81 hours, foreman £3 4s ; second hands £2 10s, others £2 ; one apprentice to every two men ; not more than two apprentices with any one firm ; preference to Unionists.

In tho carters’ award, the minimum wago was fixed at £2 2s for a single horse, £2 6s for two or more, including attendance oil horses ; no deduction for wet weather and on holidays ; casual carters Is 14d per hour, overtime after 104 hours’ work at Is 3d per hour ; general carters to work 474- hours per week, exclusive of attondaoco on horses ; overtime Is and Is 3d per hour ; wages of youths from 18 to 22 rango from 21s to 30s weekly. Bakers’ carters to work 474 hours, aud to be paid £2 2s. Drivers of train cars, public vehicles, and scavenging carts are exempted from the award. The metal workers’ dispute was before tho Arbitration Court this morning. Tho Union demands 48 hours to a week’s work, laborers lid per hour ; metal fur-

nace men 8s 6d, strikers and fettlors Bs, machinists 9s 6d per day, holders-up on boiler work Is Id to Is 2d por hour, and Is por day extra dirt money.
