THE SAMUEL PLIMSOLL
ARRIVED SAFELY AT PORT CHALMERS, By Telegraph—Press Association— DUNEDIN, last night. The steamer Hawea cast off the disabled barque Samuel Plimsoll outside the Heads, and the ship was taken in tow by the Plucky, Amy, and Koputa and brought up to Port Chalmers. J'he ship does not present so bad an appearance as might have been expected alter the weather she lias had. The foremast and topmast are still standing. Part of the port bulwarks on the main deck are damaged, together with the poop railing on that side. Three boats are more or Jess damaged and there is a large hole in tiie deck caused by the main-mast breaking. The hole has been temporarily stopped up by canvas. The skylights, pinnacle and wheel are uninjured, and althougn the barque experienced terrible weather she is by no means so badly injured in appearance as might have been expected. Her crew deserve every credit tor the way they worked.
