POVERTY BAY ROWING CLUB.
The annual meeting of the Poverty Bay Rowing Club was held in tho Coronation Hotel last night. There were over 20 members present, Mr J. AVebb (captain), presiding. The 18th annual report and balancesheet (the latter showing a surplus of £195 16s OJd in assets over liabilities) were read and adopted. Mr E. Murphy was re-elected President. The other officers elected were as follows: Affce-Presidents, Messrs C. A. DeLautour, G. L. Sunderland, A. Dewing, AV. AVebb, J. Townley, J. R. Jones, A. Taylor, G. Oman, G. Williams, Shierlaw, C. Nicholson, AVoolwright, Dr Morrison, Revs. Father Mulvihill, J. G. Paterson, and H, Williams; Patrons, Messrs AV. Gault, E. P. Joyce, R. N. Jones, B. Cox, W. Good, J. R. East, F. Oatridge, J. Innes, E. Ilirk, C. P. Browne, and Ellerbeck. Captain, A. Kirk; deputy-captain, A. Pool ; secretary, A. W. Kirk; assistantsecretary, H. Burns; treasurer, W. Fraser; auditors, Messrs J. AVebb’, A. Pool, and J. Rosie ; delegate to New Zealand Rowing Association, Dr Pollen ; committee, Messrs H. Taylor, J. Pool, D. Williams, C. Kirk, J. AVebb, and H. Burns.
The following new members were elected : Chas. Priestley, D. Green, C. J. Clemente, K. D. McLeod, J. Smith, W. Reid, J. Kennedy, R. Duncan, V. Somer. veil, G. Moore. J. Springay, R. Moore; hon. member, James Paterson.
It was decided to authorise the Committee to make arrangements with the Gisborne Club in regard to an opening day. It was stated that Mr West would pro* bably make two sticks again this season for the double scuffing competition, and Messrs Cox, Innes, and Ellerbeck had also promised trophies. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to the donors of prizes during the past season, also a vote of thanks to the outgoing officers. A vote of thanks to the chairman nated the proceedings.
