[By Telegraph—Press Association.] Stratferd, last night. Owing to the prevalence of measles, the Committee have been compelled to close the Stratford School for another fortnight.

Napier, last night. At a meeting of tho Diocesan Synod tonight, the following resolution was passed : “ That the Government be requested to make provision for that all church properties which are held iu trust for the payment of stipends to bishops and clergy be exempt from taxation.”
