ATTEMPTED SUICIDE. (Per Press Association./ AUCKLAND, fast night. Mrs Agnes Crocker, of Newmarket, w.is found in a wash.-Jiou.se ..t the rear of I er residence, this evening, with her throat cut. The woman had -been in vet v ill health for some time past and was under the care of-a nurse. She lies at the Hospital, in a, serious condition. FALL FROM A TRAIN. William Monaghan, a passenger by the train from Auckland to Kllcrslie, to-night, fell from the train as it was leaving (lie latter, station, mid hroike his arm in two /daces, and iic was also severely bruised on his side and legs. It is believed that he Is also hurt internally. GOLD RETURNS.
The gold returns fer the Auckland district for the present year to date are £525,90!), which shows an increase ot £35,823 over tiie yield to the end of September last'year. • i
