Tho Chronicle, commenting on tho Bluo Book, states that tho broad grounds on which Mr Chamberlain upholds the Commonwealth Parliament on the Kanaka question imply that the self-governing colonies are practically independent of tho Motherland in everything except defence. ■
The Standard says that real as the difficulty is, there is no excuse for the Queensland section.
