Tho Bank of Australasia’s balancosbeet shows doposits £14,527,068, cash securities £6,058,262, bills £13,767,261. Wool is brisk of sale. Prices are unchanged. MESSES COMMON, SHELTON AND CO.’S STOCK SALE.

Messrs Common, Shelton and Co. held their monthly stock salo at Waerenga-a-hika yards yesterday. The weather was fine, and there was a largo attendance of Bottlers. Mr J. B. Kells conducted the sale. Tho firm’s entries consisted of 90 head of cattle, 200 sheep, 16 horses, and a few pigs. Thero was a brisk demand for all classes of stock, especially dairy cattle and beef. Good heifers, one month from profit, mado up to £7, and fat bullocks to £8 ss. Heavy weight beef cows wero down at £B, and lighter sorts from £6 7s 6d. Calves sold at 335, yearlings to eighteen-months from £2 IDs to £‘<i 16s. Shorthorn bulls were sold from £l2 to £l3. There was a good demand for sheep. Fat wethers sold at 13s, and fat owes 10s fid ; good store ewes 9s. A number of young pigs sold at 12s. Mr Grayson’s stud sheep were passed in. Prices for horses were well maintained. Light draughts sold up to £2l 10s, two-year-old colts £lO, yearling colts £6 10s to £7 10s. A quantity of household furniture was also sold at satisfactory prices on account of Mr T. H. Grayson. Messrs Dalgety and Co. are advised by cable by their London house : —Money is less plentiful, and discount rates tond upwards. Tho w'ool sales continue with increasing spirit, and prices have gamed further ground. American buyerß are operating in firm Merinos, fine crossbreds and modium crossbreds. Thero is an increasing demand for frozen meat in genoral. Any change in prices is in favor of sellors. Tallow : Wo look for a higher range of prices. The Now Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agonoy Company havo received the following London cablegram, dated September “ Tho wool sales gain firmness as they proceed. Greasy Merino super, scoured do., fine greasy crossbred, fino scoured do., and medium greasy do., are Id per lb higher since close of last sales. Greasy Morino medium and inferior £d per lb higher. Faulty scoured market unchanged. Slipe, fino crossbrod, and medium crossbred, has advanced Vd per lb, whilst tho market for coarse crossbreds is uuohangcd. Tallow has advanced fid per cwt.”
