LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, last night. The Council ruot at 2.30. The Old Ago Pensions Act Amendment Bill passed tho dual stages. The Inebriate Institutions Amendment Bill was read a second time. The Council resumed at 8 p.m. The Sharebrokers Bill and Birds Nuisance Bill were passed through Committeo. The Accident Insurance Companies Bill was reud a second time pro forma. HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES. The House mot at 2.30. Sir ,1. G. Ward said that if tho remainder of the business wero got through expeditiously, tho session would bo brought to a close on Wednesday or Thursday next. Ho proposed to devote Monday to tho dehato on the report of the Transport Commission. It appeared to him that it would meet tho requirements of tho colony if the Government sent a copy and a report to the Imperial authorities and directed their attention to the defects in tho Transport system that required amendment. In Committeo on the Fishorios Conservation Act Amendment Bill, a new clauso was inserted, providing that it shall not bo lawful for any person to sell or let tho right to fish in any waters. Tho Bill was then put through tho final stages. The following Bills wero read a second time:—Companies Act Amendment, Savings Bank Profits, Law Societies, and Post and Telegraph. Tho following Bills passed tho final stages :—Pacific Cable Extension, Courthouso Sites Exchange, and Cook Islands Govormnont Act Amendment. Tho Houso rose at 5 30 p.m. Tho House resumed at 7.30 p.m. Tho Australasian Naval Defenco Bill i ltd Land Titles Protection Bill passod tho final stages. Tho Companies Act Amendment Bill, Savings Bank Profits Bill, Law Societies Bill, Post and Telegraph Department Bill, Land Tax and Ineomo Tax Bill passed through Committoo in thoir final stagos.
