A PROFESSOR’S STRICTURES, By. Telegraph—Press AssociationCopyright. LONDON, Sept. 17, English makers of chemical apparatus invite Professor Evans, of Canterbury, to formulate more specific charges. They admit the lack of uniformity of gauge and regret the absence of the decimal standard. They add that most of the criticisms are too severe.
A STRONG INDICTMENT,
DR EVANS MAKES HIS REPLY, (Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, last night, Dr Evans, of the Canterbury College, states in regard to a cablegram that the English makers of chemical apparatus- invite him to formulate specific charges against English instruments, that the charges he made in a letter to the Board of Governors indicated the makers quite specifically enough. He reiterates that the German goods are cheaper and bfclter than the English ones, and he says that some English makers sell foreign-made instruments as coming- from England.
