The number of cases of petty theft reported at Alexandra, Otago of late have a .urn,id quite alarming proportions, - himself night passes but some resident finds htmse the victim of the nocturnal thief. The late.t instaneeTs the theft of a quantity of wire netting belonging to the Borough Council. Recently Mr William McDonald died in the Mosgiel Hospital, Rew Sputh Wales, from the effects of burns received through his pipe setting his clothes on fire while he was riding on a windy day.
