a bed-key. Tho sixth child escaped, and gave tho alarm. Peadon kissed his wife and children on retiring on Sunday night. He slept with one of the boys, apart from his wife. During the night, sho heard him moving, and found him lying on tho bod, dressed. He told her that ho had taken medicine. Later, ho visited his wifo’s room. Finding her awake, ho retired. Sho fell asleep, and was aroused by blows on the head. She rolled on tho iloor and pretended to bo dead. The boy came to tho mother’s assistance. Peadon felled him, and then went to tho girl's room. The wife seized the opportunity to escape. When assistance arrived, Peadon was found shot through through tho head, aud grasping a razor and revolver. Tho baby was dead. Another child was dying, and tho othors wore soverely wounded. Tho family lived happily, and wore in good circumstances. It is stated that Peadon lost lioavily at Randwick races.
