REVIVAL MEETINGS.
THE SALVATION ARMY
Tho four days’ revival meetings commenced by the Salvation Army started on Saturday night, when, in spite of the inclement weather, a nice crowd stood round tho open-air stand to listen to Major Spargo, who has arrived to conduct the meetings. Sunday’s meetings were well attended, tho various subjects chosen being handled in a very interesting manner. The Major has arrived fresh from tho various great missions which have lately been held both in this colony and the Commonwealth, where ho had taken a prominent part, therefore his talk in the afternoon was tho experience of one who know. Tho meeting at night was very good, tho subject being “ Tho burning of God’s Word.” Wc understand that there are to be public meetings held every afternoon at 3 o’clock up till Wednesday, when tho Major will deal with various subjects. The subject for Monday will be “ Baalatn and his ass ; who was tho wisest ?” Revival meetings will be held to-night and on Tuesday evening at 8 o’clock, in the barracks.
