By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, last night. The Archdeaconries of Christchurch and Rangiora have been united, and the Rev. E. A. Scott, Vicar of Sydenham, has beeu appointed Archdeaeon.
While engaged grubbiny trees near Cooradigabee, New South Wales, a young man found an almost perfect human skeleton in the hollow of a tree he had foiled. It is believed to be that of an aboriginal, and appears to have boon there for many years. In the eastern farming districts of West Australia, in the vicinity of York and Nortbam, the driest August on record is reported, and the late-sown crops aro absolutely ruinod, and if rain does not come soon the late-sown crops will also be lost. Farmers are getting quit of their stock, as chaff is quoted at £1 a ton on the trucks at Northam.
