A SUSPICIOUS CASE,

Christchurch, last night. _ Tho Lyttelton patient whose caso is deemed to present suspicious symptoms was romoved to tho Bottle Lake hospital, tiy tho direction of Dr Symes, District Health Officer, yosterday. Ho is a young man namod William age, residing with his parents at Hawkhurst road, Lyttelton. Ho walked to tho railway station, lookod well, and expressed himsolf as feeling so, save for tho swelling of the glands of the nock. Ho had, it eppoars, boon employod in tho froezing chambers of vessels, carrying frozen meat, and it is stated that glandular swellings, as tho result of cold, aro sometimes produced In tho men working in thoso chambers. Dr Symes states that besides glandular swelling on the patient's neck his genoral condition has given riso to fear that he may bo suffering from plague. It is therefore considered advisable to isolato tho case.
