TROOPER’S FUNERAL.
By Telegraph—Prcas Association. Nelson, last night. A military funeral, £iven to tiro body of the late Sergeant liawkswortb, of' 'the Tenth Contingent, who died at Auckland, took place this afternoon. It was very largely attended, all the Volunteers being present. A FIRE. A seven-roomed residence, owned by Mr Everett, and occupied by Mr J. Rishworth, local manager of the Australian Mutual Society, was destroyed by fire this morning. The insurances on the contents were: £2OO in the Imperial, £IOO in the National, and £IOO in tho Northern, the latter on the books, Mr Ilishworth is a considerable loser.
