WELLINGTON v. SOUTHLAND.

The interprovineial Rugby football match between Southland and Wellington was played hero to-day, and resulted in a draw, each side scoring a penalty goal and a try (6 points). The day was windy, and about 2000 spectators were present. Taylor scored a fine try for Southland, running nearly the length of the ground, and Jacobs kicked a goal from a penalty. Spencer kicked a penalty-goal for Wellington, but missed an easy chance of placing a goal from a try secured by Sweeney near the posts. The play on the whole was poor.

OTAGO v. HAWKE’S BAY. By Tolegraph—Press Association. Napier, last night. The football match Otago v. Hawke’s Bay was played to day in splendid weather. There was a large attendance of spectators, and the game was interesting all through, both sides being very evenly matched. Although the visiters won by 15 points to 9, the advantage was only gained in the last few minutes of play. THE JUNIOR REPRE BEN TAT IFF S. • TO PLAY NAPIER TO-MORROW. The junior representative team to play Hawke’s Bay left for Napier by the Zealnndia last evening, in charge of Mr L. Sherriff. The following will take part in the 'match, which will be played tomorrow (Friday) : Hepburn, Sharp (2), Witty, Bastable, Osborne, Hansen, Moore. Wallace, Driiler (captain), McCullough, Bell, Somervell, Smith, and Third. Mr W. S.
