FOOTBALL.
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) Auckland, last night,
Messrs Murray, of Auckland, Hallamore, of Napier, and Ellison, of Wellington, have selected the following team to represent the North Island against the South in tho match to be played at Wellington on the 13th : —Full-back, McKenzie (Wairarapa); three-quarters, Asher (Auckland), Wallace (Wellington), Tregear (Wanganui) ; five-eighth, R. McGregor (Auckland) ; half, Kiernan (Auckland); wing forwards, Laing (Auckland), Armstrong (Wairarapa) ; forwards, Dodd (Woffington), O'Dowda (Taranaki), Long, Cunningham, McDuff, Nicholson, Tyler (Auckland).
Nelson, last night. The football match Old Boy’s Christchurch High School v. Old Boys’ Nelson College, played to-day, resulted in favor of Christchurch by eight points to three. The •gamo was very interesting and exciting. In the first spell Boag obtained a try for Christchurch, and Bannehr a try for Nelsen, neither being converted. In tho second spell McMillan secured a try for Christchurch, which Buchanan converted. No other scoro was obtained, though Nelson narrowly missed doing so.
