A SUCCESSFUL COMPANY
By Telegraph—Press Association. Timaru, last night. The first annual meeting of the South Canterbury Dairy Company was held yesterday, at which there was a large and representative attendance. The statement of six month's working in the balancesheet showed a credit- of X'7, but the chairman and directors said that the actual profit was £O4. The profit and loss account showed that a deficiency of £406 occurred before the factory commenced operations. During six months working the company paid £l4-1 for milk, and received £2160 for butter and cnecse. Last month there was an output of half a ton of butter per week. The profits were £l7. The Chairman said that the factory | was capable of dealing with ail output twenty-four times as large, and if there was a sufficient supply of milk forthcoming it was calculated that the profits would be £6OO per month. The balancesheet was adopted, and directors appointed for the ensuing year.
