London, Aug. 29. Lancashire made 120 in [heir first inings, Australia in their second innings 10;. There was a large attendance and the wicket was fine. Saunders' first ball of the day was fatal to Littlewood. Three for 61. The pitch
was treacherous. Maclaren was dismissed without scoring. lour for 61. Harrows joined Tyldesley, and made a bit of a stand. The latter was caught by Armstrong. Five for 89. The seventh wicket was down for 90. Stanning was bowled first ball. lanson was stumped lor a duck. Hollins and Hallows were together, and the former was bowled by Saunders. Eight for 102. Kerrnode gave a catch off the same bowler to Darling. Nine for 115. Radcliffe, the last man, made three and was caught by Trumper off Saunders. There were three sundries.
Howling analysis : Truinble 3 for 53, Saunders 6 for 52, Armstrong 1 lor 13. Darling and I'rumper commenced the Australian second innings. The latter ; lost his wicket playing back to Kerrnode. One for 13. Hill filled the vacancy. Darling made double figures, and then skied one to Garnett at long-on. Tw-o for .’.t. Noble parinered Hill, and both had scored equally when Littlejohn clean bowled the -Sydneyite. Three for 46. Duff was next. Hill sent one from Kermode back to him. Fourfordq Gregory compiled a dozen and gave Radcliffe a catch. Five for 91. Armstrong followed Duff added another three when Littlewood bowled 'him. Six for 94. Armstrong and Hopkins just brought the century up when Armstrong was caught by Hollins. Trumble contributed a duck Eight for too. Hopkins only broke his duck before being caught by Ward in long-field with a skyer well judged. Nine for 103. Littlewooo's next ball closed the innings without an addition to the total. There was great excitement. Six thousand people were present. The last five wickets went for 14. Lancashire had five wickets down for 75. Maclaren and Arnett opened tho innings. When ho had scored 3, Maclaren was trying to turn tho ball to leg, and placed an easy catch into Gregory’s hands at cover-point. One for 3. Tyldesley sinoto tho first ball received from Saunders to tho boundary. Off tho second he was caught by Kelly at the wickets. Two for 7. Hallows had contributed 14, when ho was caught by Trumpet- at long-off. Three for 41. Ward was given out legbefore when ho had a couple to his credit. Four for 47. Garnett, who played sound cricket, was tho noxt to go, Hopkins taking an easy catch at mid-off. Ho was missed by Darling, standing well back, iD tho previous over. Fivo for 02. Stunning, playing steadily, and Hollins, who put 14 together by fine hard hits, played out time. Tho scores wero :
