COMMERCIAL.

Messrs Dalgety and Co., Limited, report : —We held our usual monthly salo of stock at Makaraka Yards on Thursday. There was a good attendance of the public, and bidding was brisk. We yarded 60 head of cattlo and 200 sheep, several lines being prevented from coming in by the wet weather. We quote : Sheep— Fat ewes 9s, full-mouth store ewes 7s 6d, fine owes in lamb Ss 3d. Cattle —Calves (12 months) 32s 6d to 355, steers (IS months) £3 os 6d to £4 las ; for two-year-olds. Beof—Steers £6 3s to £7 Is,-cows £5 10s, run cows £5 to £5 ss, heifers from £4 16s to £5 Is, dairy springers £6 to £7 10s.

We sold Messrs Shanks Bros.’ horses and implements at satisfactory prices, draught geldings making from £ls to £24, mares £2O to £23. Our next sale will be held on Thursday, 11th September.
