By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Inst night. In the Supronao Court to-day the case of J. H. Brown, ox-convict, v. Dr. Toaro, Government surgeon at Wellington, claim for £2OOO damages for alleged unskilful treatment, opened boforo His Honor the Chiof Justico and a jury. Plaintiff alleged that he met with on accident while in gaol, and that the doctor, without his consont, treated him with an electric battery and caustic, causing groat pain and injury. Mr Jellicoo appoars for plaintiff, and Mr Guinness for tho defendant. Later. —In the case of Brown v. Dr Teare, the defendant had not concluded his evidence when the Court rose. His examination was chiefly in the direction of showing what his treatment of plaintiff had been with the electric battery and a red hot iron applied to the spine ; also as to the date of his statements in regard to malingering by Brown.
