Auckland, last night,

During the past few days several promises occupied by Chinese have boon broken into by burglars, and in cash case what money could bo found was stolen. Tho s.s. Waikare, lcaviug to-night, takes 500 sheep and 80 head of cattle from this port for Sydnoy, besides 200 sheep from Napier, and 350 frozen carcases of mutton from Lyttelton. Wellington, last night.

F. Moore, who pleaded guilty to writing a threatening letter to tho Acting-Premier, appoared on remand this morning, and was further remanded till Friday to enable a medical examination to bo made as to the mental condition of accused.

Greymoutb, last night. Mr James Stewart, representative of the A.M.P. Society here, who proceeds to Napier, was entertained by the Groymouth Club on Saturday, and received two presentations. Dunedin, last night. • Criminal sessions of the Supreme Court opened to-day for the first time in the new Court. The calendar is heavier than usual, 17 persons being charged with various offences. Alfred Neylon ploaded guilty to forging a cheque of 410 on the Bank of New South Wales at Nasoby. Sentence was deferred.

Neylon was admitted to probation for 12 months on condition that ho paid 12s a week to refund the proceeds of his fraud and costs of prosecution. Arden Cromp, aged 26, for forging a cheque on the Bank of Now Zealand, at present serving a sentence of six months at Christchurch, was sentenced to a six months’ additional term.
