GREAT DAMAGE. By Tolegraph—Press Assooiation—Copyright Albany, Aug. 23. Tho pumps on tho Union Company’s s.s. Aparima and the drodgo have boon working continuously sinco Thursday at tho fire, which exhibits signs of abatement. It is expected that an attempt will bo made to-day to clear tho seat of tho outbreak. The bulkhead between bunker No. 2 and tho hold is also fused. Tho coal and cargo will bo romoved. It seems certain that tho ship, which has now sottled low in tho wator, has sustained great darnago.
