Sydney Gardiner and Arthur Johnson, alias Bolton, were charged to-day with burglary at Paeroa railway station, and having house-breaking implements in their possession. They were committed to trial. Witnesses deposed that portions of a gelignite wrapper and fuse were found in accused’s hut, similar to a fuse and paper found at tho scene of the burglary. A domestic servant, aged 30, known as Eliza Burton, but with the name of E. Hickey tattooed on her body, dropped dead in the street last night.

In tho Supremo Court Owen Pierce, manager of a branch butchery of Hellaby Bros., was sentenced to two years’ imprisonment for misappropriation of To 10s. William Boss, for theft and forging, got three years. Charles Browne, aged 17, a seaman on the troopship ..iontrosc, was killed by falling from the railing of J-he ship.
