CHINESE TRADERS.

UNFAIR COMPETITION. By, Telegraph—Press Association— Wellington, last night. A deputation of shopkeepers to-night asked the Acting-Premier to curtail tbe competition of Chinese traders by amending the law to provide that all shops shall close at six p.m. on four days of the week, at one p.m. on the statutory half-holiday, and one or ten p.m. on Saturdays. Sir Joseph Ward said that he was entirely in accord with the views of the deputation, and would submit to his colleagues proposals for remedying what was complained of.
