CAUSED BY KEROSENE

Auckland, last night,
A boarding-houso in Hobson street, owned by Sheehan’s cstato, and occupied by Mr Tom liinkolla, was on fire on Saturday night. Ono room was gutted. After tho firo was extinguished, kerosene was found spilled on tho floor of ono bed* room down stairs and a broken korosono lamp on tho floor of tho bodroom gutted. The furnituro was insurod for £l5O in tho Commercial Union. Blenheim, last night.
Tho accommodation house at Okaramio, known as “ Halfway House,” was totally destroyed by firo on Saturday evening. Tho cause of tho firo was a mishap with an old lamp, which flamed up in the absence of tbo people of tho house, and ignited tho ceiling.
