THE LIQUOR QUESTION.

(Per Press Association)^ Christchurch, last night,

A No License Vigilance Association has been formed in the Avon Electorate to resist anticipated attempts to introduce licensed houses into Linwood Borough, which is in the Avon, and in which there are no hotels. Bishop Julius, speaking at a first meeting of the Association this evening, said that he wanted to vote for State control, but was not allowed to do that, so he would vote no license. He would rather die than vote for continuance. Though the'party held different views in regard to prohibition, it was at one in voting no liceuse at the coming election.
