PREMIERS’ CONFERENCE.
By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright London, Aug. 2. Mr Chamberlain presided at the Premiers' Conference. Messrs Gerald Balfour, Francis Hopwood, Alfred Bateman, and T. W. Holderness were present. Two hours were spent in discussing the drafting of resolutions on tho commercial relations of the Empire. The Conference generally favoured steamship subsidies, greater facilities to British-owned a 3 against foreign ships engaged in the coastwise service of Great Britain and the Colonies- The question will probably be finally settled on Friday, when the advisableness of publication of the proceedings will bo discussed. The Conference adjourned.
