SERIOUS POSITION IN AUSTRALIA

By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Melbourne, July 28. Unless a settlement of the demand of the shearers for an increase of pay is effected this week, serious labor troubles will extend over New South Wales and South Australia.

_ Informations have been cent to the Unions that none of the men are to start shearing for less Bian 25s per 100. The chief hopes of a settlement depend upon the decision of the New South Wales Pastoralists’ Union, which meets on Wednesday.

If amicable arrangements fail twenty, one thousand men will be thrown idle.
