The Ernpiro Skating Kink will bo open to-night, also to-morrow afternoon. Tho following players will represent the Kia Kaha B in their match against City B on Thursday, July 24th : Yowles, Cuff, Shaw, Wheeler (capt.), Cos (2), Moore, McGrath, Beore. Graham, and Sheen. The special programme being prepared for tho boys at the Empire Skating Kink on Friday night promises to provide a good night's fun. The sports ovents start at 9 sharp.

At the meeting of '.the Loyal Gisborne Lodge on Monday evening, reference was made to the approaching departure of two members of the Lodge, * Bros, S. S. Springall and C. H. Hyett, who were leaving for South Africa and Napier respectively. Eulogistic references were made to the interest taken by the brothers in the work of the Lodge, and sincere wishes wet's expressed for their success I and prosperity in their new spheres of labor. A very pleasing function took place at the meeting of the Loyal Gisborne Lodge on Monday evening, when a presentation of a jewel was made to Bro. P. Schwabe, I P.G. Bro. C. H. Ambridge, in making the presentation, referred to Bro. Schwabe’s untiring work on behalf of the Lodge, especially in regard to the formation of the Juvenile Branch, of which he had been the Superintendent. He paid a high tribute to Bro. Schwabe’s services, and asked his acceptance from the Juvenile Lodge of a handsome gold jewel, bearing the engraving, “presented to Paul Schwabe, P.G., by the Loyal Gisborne Juvenile Lodge in appreciation of his ser- j vices as Superintendent; 1901-190'J.” Bro. Schwabe, in a very modest speech, suitably replied. >

A summoned meeting of the Loyal Gis borne Lodge, No. bdSi, 1.0.0.1 - ., M.N.. was held in the Lodge lloom on Monday evening, Bro. 11. Humphreys. Noble Grand, presiding. There was a large at tendance of members, over fifty being present. The balance-sheet of tlio last half-year, which showed the funds in a flourishing state, was presented and adopted. It was decided to celebrate the anniversary of the Lodge by a smokiconcert or banquet, to be held at a iutundate. A short address was given b\ Bro. J. Warren, and after a few remarks by Bro. C. H. Ambridge the gathering broke up with the singing of “ Auld Lang Sy ne ”
