Iu the course of the Financial debate I Mr G. W. Uussell said that at the end of the third quarter of the financial year just closed there was an absolute deficit of £386,960. To show what thin ice this colony had been standing on during the financial year just closed, he stated that on the 30th September last there was only £SOOO cash in tho Public Account, or £53,000 in all, and on the following day there was due in London for interest the snca of £112,000,
