Mile after mile was covered, tho lunatic’s body staying to and fro against tho side of the car. Tho men wore unable to atop the train. Whon nearing tho station, it was apprehended that tho lunatic would bo dashed to pieces against a post; but some line-repairers witnessed tho scene, and signalled the driver, who stopped the train a few yards from tho post.
