INFECTIOUS CASES. SHIRKING RESPONSIBILITY. (Per Press Association)., TIMARU. last night. The Hospital Board to-day discussed the recommendation of the Municipal Conference .to relegate the case of plague patients to Hospital Boards. The Chairman, Mr Talbot, condemned the recommendation, i and suggested asking all the Boards in the colony to co-operate to prevent the recommendation becoming law. Another member suggested asking, the Health Department to make local health officers responsible to the local authorities, , bearing the expense conjointly. Nothing definite was done. The Board resolved to call for tenders for an infectious diseases ward, and new nurses’ quarters, to cost about three thousand pounds^
