THE PORTLAND SAFE.
ARRIVED AT ALASKA. London, July 15. Tho steamer Portland has arrived safely at Alaska.
A cablegram some weeks ago statod that tho steamer had been caught in an icopack, which was drifting towards tho polar regions. A vessel sent to assist was unable to sight tho Portland.
