CHAMBER OF COMMERCE.
.(Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, last night. A meeting of tiic Chamber of Commerce to-Uay passed a resolution approving of the sugg'fstion that a suitable sum should be voted from tho funds of tho Chamber in furtherance of the cour.se of commercial education n ibis city.. Discussion took place on the question of a dock for Wellington, on a motion that it was expedient for the Harbor Board to proceed with wharfage extension, etc., instead of building a dock. Several speakers expressed the opinion that a dock was necessary, Others thought it was not yet required. It was decided to postpone consideration of .the matter till next meeting.
RETURNING TROOPERS, The following invalided officers aad men of the New Zealand forces arrived to-day by the Ruapehu from Capetown :—Lieutenants Duncan, Fraser, Simpson, Quartermaster-Sergt. Miller, Sergeants Snelling, Lestrange"; Corporals Tat-ton, Kosanaushe, Brown ; Privates McKay, McLellan, McLeod, Adams, Law, Stanton, Attwell, Bctt, Bloomfield, FOOTBALL, The representatives of the Bush and Wairarapa Rugby Unions met at Hamua to-day. The latter won by 15 points (four tries and a penalty goal), to fi vepoints. DR, WOHLMANN. Dr, Wohlmann, the recently appointed Government Balneal (gist, arrived to-day by the Ruapehu from Londm.
