A STRANGE DEATH.

YOUTH CAUGHT IN WIRE FENCE,

DIES FROM EXPOSURE,

By Telegraph—Press Association. Invercargill, last night,

-James Pirie, aged 17, residing near Woodlands, met death in a strange manner on June iiOth. He left home to visit tome friends. He did not return, but as it was nothing out of the ordinary for him to stay for days no alarm was felt by the family. This morning he was found dead in a wire fence, in getting over which his feet had slipped, and he had fallen forward into a ditch on the other side, and they thus caused the wires to twist. Ho had extricated one foot through his boot coming off, but evidently he had died from exposure and exhaustion.
