Mr D. Morrignn, trainer of the racehorse Straybird, states that the comments made in our sporting notes yesterday regarding tho gallop by his horse, in company with The Gryphon and Pulluck were hardly fair to himself as trainer, l’he trio jumped well and went nicely, but Straybird did not travel a greater distance than his companions. The long Financial Statement delivered by Sir Joseph Ward on Tuesday, evening occupied nine hours in transmission, the operators being Messrs Cf. Kemp and Pulling, and Mr IT Robb also assisting. Mr Montgomery will he remembered here for his rendering of those popular illustrated story ballads, which arc the present rage in London and New York. Mr Harry I-lall. a comedian of high degree, also appeurs in the latest up-to-date refined comic songs. Mr Fred Gibson, Coon Impersonator, Miss Frances Beverley, Contralto, and Mr Edgar Collins also appear with the big show. The Australian press speak in terms of the highest praise of the entertainment.
