FARMERS’ UNION.

(Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, last night. The Farmers’ Union Conference began its fifth day’s sittings this morning. A circular drafted by the President yesterday was adopted, and ordered to be circulated among the branches as a direction for the coming election. The morning was afterwards taken up with a conference with the representatives of the freezing companies of the colony. The President indicated that the subjects for discussion would be: (1). The grading of sheep by the Government along similar lines to those of grading butter ; (2) the opening up of new markets by the companies ; suggesting the West of England and South Africa (the latter to be worked by a pool of com panies); (3) the better distribution in England ; (4) insurance ; (51 freight.
