In reply to questions, Ministers stated that it was not intended to deal with the question of consolidating local government legislation this sessiou. That Government had no intention of reopening negotiations for the purchase of the Welliugton-Muiiawatu line. The House roso at 5.30. The House met at 7.30. Mr Ward's delivery of tho Financial Statement occupied li hours. It was agreed to start debate on tho Statement on Tuesday evening next. Tho House rose at 9.5.
