ACCIDENT TO MR CHAMBERLAIN.
COLONIAL CONFERENCE POSTPUNED. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright London, July 7. Mr Chamberlain met with a slight cab accident, and sustained a wound on the forehead. The Colonial Conference, which was to have been held to-morrow, has in consequence been postponed. DETAILS OF THE ACCIDENT. Mr Chamberlain this morning inspected and addressed 150 Ilussan troops at the Colonial Office. He was driving in the evening from the House of Commons to the Club. The horse slipped, projecting Mr Chamberlain against the hansom window and causing a severe but not dangerous out of three inches from the centre of the forehead outwards. tie remains at Charing Cross Hospital for a day or two, needing quiet after the shock. His Majesty the King sont to enquire as to his condition. Hundreds of Commoners, Colonial Premiers, and Agents-Gouoral were amongst the callers at the hospital.
