FARMERS’ UNION.
(By Telegraph—Pross Association.) Wellington, last night. Tho Union passed resolutions that Parliament bo requested to so amend the Industrial Conciliation Act as to allow of farming interests being represented beforo the Court of Conciliation ; that Government bo asked to bring in a Bill this session, giving power to farmers for mutual fire insurance societies, on the lines of those in Ontario ; that tho Conference approves of tho provisions of the Land Act being carried out so that selectors may have a choice of tenure when rural Crown lands are thrown open ; that tho Conference protests against the amendment of the law by which land held under lease-in-perpetuity can be revalued for rental purposes; that in the amended Land Act permission should bo given to Land Boards to allow holders of Crown land to conserve timber.
