The Comte leaves for Wellington on Saturday. Enquiries made by Hie Board of Health into the Mayor of Glen Jimes’s statement shows that the sheep were certainly poor, but not unfit for consumption. Tenders received for the North Shore, bridge range from £1,112,000 to £2,720,000. The Treasurer estimates the deficit for the year at £230,000, including a deficit of £152,000 brought forward from last year on account of the war and plague.
