,(Per Press Association), WELLINGTON, last night.

The Governor lias received the following cablegram from the Secretary of State for the Colonies, dated London', 25th June : —“ It gives me great pleasure to inform you that His Majesty has been graciously pleased to, approve of the following appointments as Knights Bachelor : Captain William Russell Russell, and Mr John Logan Campbell. Children attending the various State schools in the City and suburbs, were entertained to-day, and supplied with refreshments. The caterer for tha affair in the city supplied one ton of cake, and 1200 dozen small cakes foe the- youngsters.

• A cable message .received by Sir J= G, Ward to-day states that the sick nembers of the Maori Coronation Contingent will be all right in a few days.
