FIGHT BETWEEN UNIONS.

At the Arbitration Court the majority dismissed the application of the Austral .an Workers’ Union for cancellation of the Registration of the Machine Shearers’- Uniom
The grounds of the application were that the Workers’ Union represented' the same interest, and provided admission to membership of such persons as joined the Machine Union. Against this it was urged that, the constitution of the Workers’ Union contained objectionable rules entitling the Machine Union to enrol as a separate body. Special objections were ‘made to the rules providing assistance from the funds of the Union to support a reelected labor candidate and a newspaper. The President of the Court and the Employers’ representative opposed the Employees’ repse.sentative, who was favorable to cancellation. The President, in the course of his ruling, declared that some rules of the Workers’ Union were illegal*
