Owing to the sodden state of the ground and the adverse weather conditions, it was decided, after examination of the wicket, not to resume play in the test match at Lord’s to day. London, June 14. Owing to the continued wet weather the test match was abandoned without further play. The bowling analysis of the first day’s ploy was : Hopkins, two wickets for 18; Jones had 31 scored off him, Saunders 16, Trumper 33, and Armstrong 6 for no wickets.
