Band Rotunda Site.

(To the Editor of the Times.) Sir, —As the general impression is that a band rotunda is the best Coronation Memorial, and the only trouble is where to place it, allow me to suggest a site that has not been previously suggested by any of your correspondents. The site I refer to is a vacant piece of land alongside the Supreme Court, and which could be easily acquired from the Government. By placing the rotunda there it would be doing away with an ugly and dirty corner, which is at present not used for any purpose, and is not in keeping with the well-kept Supreme Court grounds. It would not take much to make it a pretty spot, which would be noticed by visitors to the town. It must be remembered that in erecting the rotunda we are not merely providing a place for the bands to play in, but a memorial of the Coronation of the King, and therefore it should be placed in a conspicuous place, and not in an out-of-the-way spot, where it would not be noticed. By utilising that section it would complete a splendid block in which we have our newpost-offie and Supreme Court. The Supreme Court grounds should be opeD to the public, as they are at Wanganui. Hoping everything will be settled satisfactorily at the meeting, and for the best interests of the town, I am, etc., Bjauiv,
